Lot 166 is very private with beautiful golf course views. When this lot was purchased it included plans by Tate Studio Architects. Ernst and Tate worked together to enlarge the house and garage and raise the ceiling heights.
The home had been designed with concrete columns and a massive concrete fireplace as well as concrete floors. Ernst changed the floor to reclaimed white oak and added Makassar ebony cabinets to add warmth. All countertops are natural quartzite.
The green quartzite was used for the master bath countertops. It was also brought into the shower for the bench and niches. The recesses in the shower for the valves and hand shower made for a less cluttered look. The same quartzite was used in the powder room for the counter and the sink itself.
Ernst mirrored the wall of this small space to make it feel bigger. All of the interior doors in this home are made of walnut with laminated glass panels, which allows light to flow from one room to another while preserving privacy.
